Events in Green Industry Innovations
6 / 15 / 2016
To promote Lithuania-Norway partnership in the field of green innovations, the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA), in cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation Norway, will organize four matchmaking events in Lithuania, Norway and Estonia in 2016 and 2017 in the framework of the Green Industry Innovation Programme. Over 250 Lithuanian and Norwegian representatives are expected to attend the events.
One of the objectives of the Green Industry Innovation Programme is to promote the cooperation of Lithuanian and Norwegian businesses. Norway is a good example in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. Businesses in Norway are encouraged to develop and implement green innovations on a regular basis. Norway is leading in Europe in waste sorting and recycling, nearly all electricity of the country is generated by hydropower plants, there are over 3,000 public electromobile charging stations, and projects for development of electric-powered ships and ferries are being successfully implemented. This means that during the matchmaking events Lithuanian companies will have an excellent opportunity to share experience, forge valuable business contacts, and initiate mutually beneficial projects with Norwegian businesses that are far ahead in terms of green innovations.
The matchmaking events will be dedicated to individual topics and cover certain areas that offer the best cooperation potential:
- June 2016: The green information and communication technology matchmaking event – as part of the ICT Week 2016 held in Tallinn;
- September 2016: representatives of Lithuanian and Norwegian waste management companies will meet at a matchmaking event in Lithuania;
- October 2016: a matchmaking event dedicated to bioeconomy will be held in Norway;
- February 2017: Lithuanian and Norwegian companies engaged in the development and implementation of energy-efficient technologies will share their experience and ideas.
During the events, experts from the two countries will speak about Lithuania and Norway’s potential in the fields of green information and communication technology, waste management, bioeconomy, and energy-efficient technology and about the envisaged projects and the practical use of green solutions. Special attention will be paid to individual meeting sessions, in which representatives of Lithuanian and Norwegian business, research, cluster, and other organizations will be able to forge new contacts to subsequently implement joint projects. The second day of the event will be dedicated to visits to successful green industry companies, clusters, research and technology parks, research centers, and other organizations working in the field of green industry.
Representatives of Lithuanian and Norwegian business, research, public sector, and other green industry organizations are invited to attend the matchmaking event.
